The Animal and Plant Quarantine Supervision Training Courses for Entry and Exit of Xi'an Customs was Launched at Our University

On July 10^th, 2023, on behalf of Xi'an customs, the College of Plant Protection and the College of Veterinary Medicine of our university were entrusted to jointly host the training course. Chen Hong and Ying Xiaoli attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Wei Digong, Zhang Junjie, Yang Zengqi, and some other professors representing the teaching staff attended the meeting.

Chen Hong mentioned in his speech that this training was a vivid reflection of both sides implementing the overall national security concept in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Both sides have established close cooperative relations in skill training, scientific research, and other aspects, laying a solid foundation for jointly safeguarding national biosecurity. He hoped that this training could deepen cooperation and create a "National Security Guard" training base with complementary advantages and mutual benefits.

Ying Xiaoli emphasized in her speech, that the increasingly new situation of national biosecurity posed new challenges to the ability and level of animal and plant quarantine supervision. She requested all participants to improve their awareness, establish a correct learning attitude; to concentrate and immerse themselves in the training; and to apply what they have learned to their work, making greater contributions to national biosecurity.

This training course is divided into two sessions, with 30 people in each session. The training targets are those front-line supervisory personnel from Xi'an Customs and its subordinate customs departments. The College of Plant Protection and the College of Veterinary Medicine have assigned experienced teachers in the field of animal and plant quarantine who have rich experience in teaching, researching, and practicing as main lecturers. The content covers basic principles of animal and plant quarantine, quarantine technology and methods, presented in a systematic and hierarchical way through a combination of theory, experimentation, practice, and discussion.
